MAJOR O-Bomb-Ya Defeat!
Today the house of representatives voted 295 to 123 against a bill allowing President Cheney to continue the illegal war in Libya. The real slap in the face isn’t that progressives like Dennis Kucinich voted against him, that is to be expected. The slap is that his Republican buddies voted against him.
“What? We don’t have enough wars going on,” Rep. Dennis Kucinich, D-Ohio., asked mockingly. “We need one more war. We have to wage war against another nation that didn’t attack us.”
I am sure that his corporate war-monger supporters are not loosing any sleep over this. he will just use an illegal signing statement to continue their money flow.

He hits all the right points. Illegal spying and mass murder by the right wing nut jobs go un-prosecuted even rewarded, but a liberal trying to catch some trim on the internet! What a crime! OMFG, the terrorists will surely win now!
Each day I wonder if the US can get any more right wing. Each day the answer is painfully blatant. I should start to ask, when will liberals, moderates and non-fringe right conservatives wake up and throw these clowns out?

The author, Medea Benjamin, stops a little short of my headline. Probably because CD wouldn’t have posted it if she had. None the less she brings up the obvious point that so many of the anti-war crowd packed up and went home once Cheney Jr. got elected.
I think it speaks to my ongoing point about the blue team versus the red team rhetoric. Those who gave up on the fight for peace because the blue team is starting the wars are not liberals or progressives, they are just blue team pundits. Exactly the same way that the pro war red team pundits are now against Jr’s wars. The aren’t real war mongers they are just pro red team.

Three illegal wars, massive home foreclosure crisis, flooding and fires. Oh and the biggest item in the news is this: A member of the House was caught looking for trim on-line. Again. OMFG what a scandal! How will our country ever survive? Thanks to this the terrorists will surely win.
The corporate news media loves stuff like this, big headlines, zero content. Their commercial sponsors pump in the revenue and they print the fluff.

– Provide 43.1 Million Students With Pell Grants Worth $5,500 Every Year For Ten Years
– Provide 31.5 Million Head Start Slots For Children Every Year For Ten Years
– Provide VA Care For 30.7 Million Military Veterans Every Year For Ten Years
– Provide 30.4 Million Scholarships For University Students Every Year For Ten Years
– Hire 4.19 Million Firefighters Every Year For Ten Years
– Hire 3.67 Million Elementary School Teachers Every Year For Ten Years
– Hire 3.6 Million Police Officers Every Year For Ten Years

Dubya is not Evil
We have all heard by now about the middle school that had a list of the five most evil people of all time. Four and five were shooter and dubya. I agree that cheney sr. should have made the list, but not dubya. I don’t think that he had the cognitive ability to be evil. Years of drug abuse left a man who, by all accounts wasn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer to begin with, with a sub 80 IQ. I really believe that he wanted to do good and in his mind probably was. He was just to stupid to realize the truth. Think about it, whenever there was something big going on, he was nowhere to be found. When Lewis “scooter” Libby was indited, all the administration officials had a big meeting at the white house (except dubya). During September 11, his dad was meeting with Bin Ladens family and where was he? Talking to his peers at a grade school in Florida.
Dubya is not an evil man, he is a moron, too stupid to contrive an “evil” plot to do anything.

O-Bomb-ya has to be giving a sigh of relief. His little war is safe for now. His buddies in the defense industry can still cash their tax payer funded paychecks.
Although I seriously doubt he had much to worry about. His republican buddies in the house have his back. They want to make sure he succeeds with his God appointed mission.

Kathy Hochul Wins NY-26
The win of Kathy Hochul in the New York house race has several issues that I have issue with. Let’s start with why there was a special election in the first place.
Chris Lee the former New York 26th district house Representative resigned after a horrible, reprehensible, treasonous act of looking for trim on craigslist. Yes folks that was his massive crime. Oh wait he didn’t actually do anything illegal, so I guess it wasn’t a crime. What a joke! I can only assume that there was some other reason besides this that he quit…
So the GOP guy is out for no real reason and the democrats have their person in. The major issue that the corporate news media is all crowing about is the Paul Ryan deal to gut medicare. I am sure that that was a big part of Hochul’s win, but there is more. She is also honest about two huge issues that politicians are NEVER honest about. Raising taxes and cutting defense spending. Something we all know has to happen. She said that we need to cut everywhere, including defense and entitlements and raise revenues. I am sure O-bummer is crying about this. He would have been a lot happier if a good little corporate Republican(or democrat) had taken the seat and all of this talk about his tax cuts for the super rich and spending for his little wars would go away.
But it won’t, and we have Kathy Hochul and the people in New Yorks 26th district to thank for that.

He talks about the unions need to give up on the Democrat party. I could not agree more. I really think that a first step in changing the US government is when progressives finally give up on the right wing Democrat party. Nothing will change until this happens. They have done NOTHING for the unions, so I would say that this about time.
